NewMusicFriday: Our Picks for the Week

ARTIST: Kevian Kraemer Photo Credit: Claudia Chiossone

As summer gets closer, New Music Friday feels built for movement. This week brings hypnotic hard techno, bass-heavy festival cuts, warm indie-pop, global pop, and sharp J-pop energy. The live momentum is growing too, with wave to earth, Kevian Kraemer, YOASOBI, and HEYZ all heading toward major tours or festival stages this summer!

#NMF Dance: Our Picks For The Week

NMF Dance brings new music from GALLØ and Alex Farell, Moody Good, Baauer, and more!

1. Alex Farell, GALLØ’ – “Shiva”

GALLØ and Alex Farell join forces on “Shiva,” a bone-rattling yet ethereal hard techno collaboration. It is worth mentioning that “Shiva” marks GALLØ’s label debut! The track moves through deep bass pounds, heavy synths, and chant-like textures with a hypnotic pull. Rather than feeling like a standard club cut, “Shiva” creates a foggy, almost ritual-like atmosphere, letting listeners move freely inside its dark, supernatural pulse.

2. DJ Plead – “Stucco”

DJ Plead delivers “Stucco,” the lead single from Please, his new album out on June 26. The cozy track combines techno, house, and dub with Levantine dance textures, including dabke, mijwiz, and shaabi influences. Meanwhile, it feels warmer and more personal than a standard club cut, turning everyday detail into something strange, intimate, and quietly moving.

3. Moody Good – “Clap Back “

Moody Good finally unleashes “Clap Back” from SPEEEDBUMP 01, signaling a bold new chapter for one of bass music’s most influential sound designers. Moody Good not only leans on nostalgia but also pushes his world forward through hyper-detailed production, visual world-building, and a broader creative vision. Consequently, “Clap Back” feels like a hard live show hit, with the project making its first headline debut this Friday at Cervantes in Denver.

4. Baauer – “Supersonic”

Baauer turns up the heat with “Supersonic,” the latest preview of his upcoming album U on June 12. Inspired by classic UK dance records, the track starts with a simple piano line before bursting into big-beat drums, sci-fi synths, and filter-swept chaos. Precisely for this reason, it feels loose, joyful, and alive, like an exclusive customization for the arriving Euro summer.

5. Zeds Dead, Subtronics, Tape B – “Word Scramble”

HEYZ is back with a reimagined flip to Zeds Dead, Tape B, and Subtronics’ 2026 bass anthem “Word Scramble”, turning it into a full-force dubstep weapon. Keeping the original’s attitude intact, he pushes it harder with crushing drops, relentless energy, and pit-ready impact. After premiering the flip at EDC Las Vegas’ bassPOD, the moment quickly took off with fans online. Later, HEYZ brings that momentum to Electric Forest, Bass Canyon, Lost Lands, and more.

#NewMusicFriday: Our Picks for the Week

New music from wave to earth , LISA, Anitta, Rema, Ayase and more on New Music Friday.

1. wave to earth – “heaven and hell”

wave to earth make a charge return with “heaven and hell,” their first new music since play with earth! 0.03. Sonically, the track leans into chill funk grooves and warm textures, carrying the easy glow of a late spring afternoon. At the same time, its relaxed rhythm feels like the first sign of summer arriving. Indeed, the release also comes as the South Korean indie band confirms a “the pieces tour,” kicking off in Vancouver on September 4th.

2. OF VIRTUE – “What’s It Like To Be Happy?”

Of Virtue releases a powerful new single, “What’s It Like To Be Happy,” in recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month. Known for weaving mental health advocacy into their music and community, the band turns that mission into something raw and direct here with its heavy rock style. Its strong force and powerful vocals give that stillness a sense of resistance, turning depression into a sound built on honesty, weight, and courage.

3. LISA, Anitta, Rema, FIFA Sound – “Goals”

LISA, Anitta, and Rema come together on “Goals,” the latest single from the Official FIFA World Cup 2026™ album. It perfectly blends K-pop, Latin pop, and Afrobeats, expanding the project’s global sound with a rhythm-driven, borderless energy. As a result, “Goals” feels built for a worldwide stage, capturing the movement, scale, and unity of the upcoming World Cup. Just as LISA shared during this collaboration, “Music always unites people across the world‘.

4. Kevian Kraemer – “does it still mean something?”

Kevian Kraemer shares “does it still mean something?,” a breakout lead track from his new EP only if it matters. As it opens up, brighter synth textures and an energetic chorus push it into a polished indie-pop glow. This track feels like an endless summer with a quiet emotional pull. In addition, the release also arrives ahead of Kevian’s biggest North American tour this summer.

5. Ayase – “Urusa”

Ayase, one half of YOASOBI, returns with “Urusa,” the first taste of his self-produced EP dialogue. Written, composed, and sung by Ayase, the track opens a more personal chapter in his music career. With headphones on, clear drums and light electronic elements give “Urusa” a sharp, steady J-pop pulse. Undoubtedly, the energenic groove is ideal for some fitness activities or for party play. The release also comes ahead of YOASOBI’s North American ‘Never Ending Stories’ tour this August, including Lollapalooza.
