It’s Tuesday, but New Music Friday Dance is still as lively as ever, ready to carry through the week. House and techno dominate this week; perfect for dancing!
1. Bexxie: “Baile Vem”
Tech-house star Bexxie returned with “Baile Vem,” meaning “let’s dance, come on” in Portuguese. The vocal sample is the focal point of the track, overtop a thumping bass and laser-like synths. This track can be inserted into any party playlist and immediately light up the energy, getting everybody’s feet shuffling.
2. RÜFÜS DU SOL: “Edge of the Earth”
Rüfüs Du Sol came back with “Edge of the Earth,” a dreamy progressive house track featuring atmospheric adlibs and timbres. Known for their soothing voices and sound design, this release blurs the lines of reality, clouded by visions of past love. It is the 12th track of their new album, Inhale / Exhale.
3. Max Styler, Gorgon City: “Touch”
Max Styler and Gorgon City teamed up for “Touch.” This metallic techno track crisply wobbles and waves through the ears, paired with a chopped vocal sample that adds a mysterious, nighttime energy. The visuals match the progression of the track, showing various spikes and abstract, microscopic shapes.
4. BIJOU, JENNY VOSS: “Seduction”
BIJOU and JENNY VOSS came together to create “Seduction.” Walking the line between techno and house, the track is full of reverb, strong percussion, and thick, compressed synths that enhance the bassline. The various drop styles throughout keep the song engaging and ready for any rave setlist.
5. BLOND:ISH, Zeeba: “Different Way”
BLOND:ISH and Zeeba returned with “Different Way.” This bouncy house track lifts the spirits, reminding listeners that everybody explores life differently and that different is not wrong. A bright, harmonica-like synth drives the song in the form of triplets, adding an identifiable sound to it.
