Motionless In White, Lorna Shore, Fit For a King, and Static Dress Defy 105-Degree Heat

Motionless in White kicked off the “Sweat and Blood” tour this summer, also featuring rising and current heavy-hitters in the scene Lorna Shore, Fit For A King, and Static Dress.

The band commented upon announcing earlier this year:

By the time this tour begins, it will have been just under three years since our last U.S. headliner, and we are absolutely shooting for the moon to celebrate our return. We could not be more excited to visit our American fans who have been incredibly patient with us, and can’t wait to give them the first performances of new material from our upcoming album.

We caught the in Wheatland’s Toyota Amphitheater during one of the areas rumored hottest days of the year.

The opener of the evening, Static Dress, is bringing the y2k MySpace “scene” era back into the mainstream. The rising act offered a very traditionally metalcore performance with a clean sound during the peak heat of the day; even coupled with the 105 degree temperature, nothing could slow them down.

Following an electric beginning to the night, Fit For A King offered a similarly heated performance. There’s nothing quite like beginning a set with a 30 second scream, as carried by the lead vocalist, Ryan Kirby. The hit track they opened with, “Backbreaker,” sent chills through the audience; it hits heavily both lyrically and when performed live. They proceeded through their set with some of the music from their 2025 album, such as “Begin The Sacrifice,” “No Tomorrow,” “Lonely God,” “No Tomorrow,” “Lonely God,” and ended with “Witness The End.” It was the perfect place to witness the new music and era for the band.

Lorna Shore started their performance with their biggest hit, “To The Hellfire”. And you’d think it’d still be too hot to mosh, let alone crowd surf. It’s not often that crowd surfing happens at the Toyota Amphitheater, as I was told. “It would have to be a really really energetic performance,” someone said in passing when I’d asked. All along, I knew deep down, the heat wouldn’t stop a crowd surfer at a Lorna Shore set. I couldn’t help but feel a little smug when I saw the first crowd surfers flood in upon the start of their performance. Nor did it stop with their opening track; they flooded to the barricade throughout the entire set, all the way until the end of the evening.

“When I see you having a good time, we’re having a good time,” commented vocalist, Will Ramos.

The performance soared in the ears with rich guitar, bass, and drums that pounded within the soul. And together, with the unique showcase of vocal talents, the set was incomparable live. You think hearing the band on streaming platforms is impressive? Try catching them live.

Lastly, we can’t fail to mention Motionless in White. Their theatrics took over the stage, all with pyro and fireworks; not to mention the fire-wielding dancers who harmonized with the music in the foreground and background. Fans sang the lyrics loudly and beautifully. You could hear them even over the music. The band met the energy of their audience with more of their own and made all of them, all of us, feel as if we, too were onstage with them, interacting in their ritual of hits old and new.
