Lollapalooza Releases 2024 Schedule

With just over two months to go before Lollapalooza takes over Chicago for the first weekend of August, the festival has released their schedule! What do we think about what the festival’s schedule looks like? Read on to find out!

First and foremost, that Perry’s mystery on Saturday is the most intriguing part of the weekend. Given that Skrillex has not received an official set time as a headliner, it’s safe to speculate that he could be completely taking over Lollapalooza’s electronic stage for the day. Given that Fred again.. has been popping up all over the world – most recently at EDC Las Vegas – it could be safe to assume that some discussions are happening on that front. As someone lucky enough to catch Fred’s 2023 Official Lollapalooza Aftershow, I can confidently say I’ll be sprinting from Deftones if he pops up again.

Surprisingly, there aren’t too many drastic overlaps that weren’t previously known after the release of the daily lineups. The headliner overlaps are always rough at Lollapalooza, and this year is no different. Thursday sees Hozier against Tyler, the Creator; Friday sees Stray Kids against SZA; Saturday sees Future x Metro Boomin against The Killers and Skrillex; and Sunday closes with Melanie Martinez against Blink-182. Those headliner overlaps aren’t even including the Perry’s headliners and the “Bacardi” stage (long live The Grove) headliners, by the way. Nights at Lollapalooza are intense, and we love them.

Earlier in the day, though, the festival promoters did a great job of keeping artists of similar genres on either side of the park for the majority of the day! Friday did put a bit of a strain on our schedule, as Laufey is performing with the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra at the same time as Reneé Rapp after Sexyy Red and Victoria Monét perform at the same time earlier in the day. On the whole, though? A lot of the demonic overlaps and odd schedulings of past Lollapaloozas were avoided here.

If you’re heading to Grant Park at the beginning of August, let us know who you’re most excited to see! Be sure to follow the festival for further official updates, and keep your eyes peeled to our Instagram for updates closer to the festival! Let’s make this another great Lollapalooza.

Obsessed with all things music. Finished that MFA, so now I’m apparently a master of this. Bouncing around state borders, going wherever. If you see me at a show, say hey!
