Laney Jones Rocks Out While We All “Stay At Home”

Laney Jones sings their heart out about the quintessential quarantine experience. Jones packs a punch in this indie rock track, releasing pent-up energy in a way everyone can relate to.

In AP Lit in school, we had to write hyperbole about doing something that sounds terrible but you are trying to make it sound good. That was this song about getting stuck inside during the pandemic. Everything that we love is made with being around people, and suddenly that was taken away. It took the humanity and beauty out of the world. The hidden thing is it’s bittersweet staying at home.

With a rawness to their voice, Jones embarks on an earnest exploration of what makes us human. “Stay At Home” begins with lo-fi influences before building and building in energy — rock ‘n’ roll energy overflowing.

Take down the world, take down the law
Shut down the school, shut down the mobs
Buddy be cool like rock ‘n’ roll
We can still party but let’s stay at home

~ “Stay At Home”

Bask in the hazy vibes of “Stay At Home” in the recently released music video. Watch as Jones slips slightly into the surreal, from cozy clothes and vintage television to kaleidoscope scenery and people with panda heads.

An artist like Jones is someone you want to follow. They grew up in swampy central Florida on a farm with kangaroos and other exotic animals, and then came to Nashville in 2017, working at Piggly Wiggly to make their living. Jones has also licensed commercial pop songs for Guinness and Google. But what really makes an impact is the uninhibited storytelling and passion behind Laney Jones’ music, like hit single “Long Way” off the 2022 album Stories Up High.

Now, Jones is hitting the road with tour dates in Tennessee, Texas, and California. Tickets are on sale now — you won’t want to miss these rock ‘n’ roll vibes.
