Pulsating with energy and synth-driven melodies, Faux Real‘s “Walking Away From My Demons (Wet Leg Remix)” is the perfect anthem to hypnotize dance-floor fanatics. Featuring UK rock group Wet Leg, the song showcases their ability to craft mesmerizing tracks full of infectious vocal hooks, pounding basslines and razor-sharp tech elements. “Sometimes, the only way to shake off feelings of inadequacy is to just get up and go, however underprepared,” Faux Real shares. “Sow, reap, repeat.” Find the original rendition on Faux Real’s debut album, Faux Ever.
2. “With You” – Dean Lewis, Sofia Camara
Switching gears is “With You,” a heartbreaking, passion-infused duet by Australian singer-songwriter Dean Lewis and Toronto-based singer Sofia Camara. “I was ready to fall in love with somebody / And love somebody like you,” Lewis and Camara sing, their expressive vocals bringing a layer of raw intimacy to the release. Intertwined with cinematic strings and emotional piano chords, the riveting instrumentals make “With You” perfect for reminiscing on a past, or future, lover.
3. “DM:AM” – M(h)aol
Painfully realistic and endlessly atmospheric, alternative-indie group M(h)aol‘s “DM:AM” “sheds light on the reality of men sliding into women’s DM’s on social media. “They quickly turn to insults about the women, and then once the woman says she’ll expose what they’ve done, she gets a laundry list of reasons why he behaves like this,” M(h)aol explains. Instrumentally, the single features urgent, compelling rhythms, reverb-drenched synths and overlapping, monotone vocals. Look out for “DM:AM” on M(h)aol’s forthcoming album, Something Soft, out May 16, 2025.
4. “Yesterday’s Hero” – Dean Wareham
In a cathartic blend of soft rock rhythms and electrifying guitar solos, New Zealand-born musician Dean Wareham unveils his new single, “Yesterday’s Hero.” On the song’s meaning, he shares, “I was trying to write a song about these times, leaders who talk peace but pursue war, and about political rebels who are vilified while alive but become (yesterday’s) heroes once they are safely in the grave.” Wareham’s raw, entrancing vocals further emphasize this idea. On March 28, 2025 (tomorrow!), he will release his 4th solo album, That’s The Price Of Loving Me. Give it a listen!
