1. “Whatever” – ssolana

London-based alternative dream pop artist ssolana experiments with reflective lyrics and a unique electronic soundscape in her latest single, “Whatever.” The track delves into the bittersweet reality of everchanging friendships. Musically, ssolana’s isolated, soaring vocals are intertwined with catchy synths to bring in a fresh pop feel. The official music video features ssolana seemingly searching for past memories alongside a stop motion version of herself looking up “how to get over a friend breakup.” On the track’s true meaning, ssolana says, “It’s a gentle reminder that it’s okay to cherish past memories while embracing new beginnings.”

2. “Too Much To Say” – JoJo

“Too Much To Say” by multi-platinum hip-hop musician, actress and author JoJo delves into the insecurities and challenges that the R&B artist has faced over her life. Layered with soul-infused vocals, intricate beats, introspective lyrics and expressive melodies, the single also takes on an air of resilient self-acceptance. “Too Much To Say” can also be found on JoJo’s forthcoming EP, NGL, set to be released Jan. 24, 2025 via BMG. 3. “Touched, Pt. II” – Ross Valory

Known as the original rock bassist for Journey, songwriter and musician Ross Valory has unveiled his latest solo project, “Touched, Pt. II.” Completely instrumental, the piece is composed of melodic bass lines and sparkling piano touches to create a hypnotic, atmospheric landscape. The track is further enhanced by a black-and-white cinematic drama, full of men in long trench coats, suspicious gunshots, passionate encounters and more. “Touched, Pt. II” can be found on Valory’s debut solo album, All of the Above, a nine-track collection of songs that further showcases the musician’s ability to fuse genres into something brand new.

4. “Girlfriend” – Sugadaisy

Nashville-based duo Sugadaisy have released their latest psych-pop single, “Girlfriend.” “I wish I had a girlfriend / Who wished she had a boyfriend / Someone she could always call and lean on,” the pair sing. The track combines indie pop electric guitar solos, spacey synths and driving rhythms to create that feeling of yearning for a future lover. The accompanying music video is retro at its core, with vibrant backgrounds and lighthearted dancing.

5. “Kiss My Apocalypse” – Liang Lawrence

London-based singer-songwriter Liang Lawrence has dropped her latest heartfelt indie pop single, “Kiss My Apocalypse.” The song blends upbeat electric guitars with layered synths, energetic percussion and lofty vocals. “‘Kiss My Apocalypse’ is probably the least causal way you could tell someone that you want to spend the rest of your life with them,” says Lawrence. “I found it refreshing to write a love song that just simply puts my cards on the table and lets someone know how I feel.”
