The announcement of Fred Again.. playing the final set at Bonnaroo 2024 made headlines as the British artist and producer made his way through some of the most popular festivals in the United States. After Fred’s melodic and intimate Boiler Room set in July 2022, he has seen a meteoric rise in electronic music and mainstream music as a whole. His single, places to be with Anderson.Paak and CHIKA has been on the rise and could be considered this year’s song of the summer.

At 9:00 pm CST, Fred Again.. graced the stage in front of thousands of fans who had been waiting for four days- some for several months, to experience Fred’s spectacularly raw performance and his calmly electrifying sound. As an artist who found their footing during the COVID-19 pandemic, Fred brings a unique approach to his shows, creating the music right in front of the audience with the same kind of equipment he used to create his first two full projects, GANG (2020) and Actual Life (April 14 – December 17, 2020) (2021), the second of which he claims as his first album.

In the two hours that Fred played on the Who Stage, he created a spiritual and engaging environment, inviting the crowd to dance together, hug each other, and reflect on what brings them joy and gratitude. Fred’s approach to interacting with his audience from afar exposes a level of vulnerability that is not often seen with artists anymore. Although he rarely left his spot behind different keyboards, MIDI pads and synthesizers, he was in constant communication with his fans, telling them to sing with him and explaining the motives behind his songs.

Fred captivated the crowd by putting together his songs in real time, accompanied with visuals of some of the featured artists on his most popular songs. A notable example is a vocal sample that Fred used for his song places to be, where he used a viral clip of a man saying “it’s something about that song that just make you wanna get up and bust a move.”

Fred Again.. left an incredible impact on his audience and fans, many of which who came away with tears in their eyes and enlightenment. He has embodied mindfulness and self-reflection in his music, something that everyone can benefit and come away with after embracing his sound and his message that beauty is all around us, even in the most unlikely of places.

Fred Again.. released his new album Ten Days in September 2024 following his announcement of his upcoming North America tour. The tour began on September 11th and spanned 14 shows.
