“EUSEXUA” is the new wave.
Since her first EP, EP1 in 2012, British artist FKA Twigs has been delivering futuristic, avant-garde specialties to crate-digging music lovers all over. Seldom releasing a full album, the upcoming EUSEXUA acts as a long-awaited comeback piece from Twigs. Fans were somewhat fed to satisfaction with singles, collaborations, and a mixtape in the years following the critically acclaimed MAGDALENE. On September 13th, they can expect the first tease of a techno-inspired symphony.
The title-term EUSEXUA grabs syllables from the words “euphoria” and “sexual,” but its meaning was first revealed by Twigs in March 2024 for British Vogue, defined as “[the] sensation of being so euphoric [that one could] transcend human form.” Two weeks following her private listening party held in Manhattan, New York City, the singer-songwriter posted a teaser link on X to a custom website with the caption “HAVE YOU EXPERIENCED EUSEXUA?”. Upon entering, visitors are met with a supercut of various individuals repeating the title, each expanding into their interpretation of it.

The site takes notable inspiration from cyberspace graphic design, with cool-toned colors and a bold, analog font derivative. It seems to hint at a potential listening party or event in London, England, set for September 14th, as well as offering a space to “Sign up to ENTER EUSEXUA.” The bottom of the page mysteriously reads “To go out we must go in reset. And begin again from within,” perhaps referring to the clean-slate approach Twigs took to creating the album, unintentionally sparked by 85 demo leaks in October 2023.
As EUSEXUA’s release date approaches, it is a perfect time to revisit the core projects of FKA Twigs’s discography, providing a point of reference for new listeners, or a sense of nostalgia and excitement for long-time fans.
Keep an eye out for the new single EUSEXUA, to be available on streaming platforms this Friday, September 13th, and the album to be released on January 24th, 2025.
