Throughout the year, Kharfi has been releasing project after project. Following up his most recent release, Tell Her, his newest track is another international collaboration, featuring the Tampa-based, Floridian duo – Xuitcasecity. Unlikely is the first track to debut from his upcoming sophomore album, “AQUARIUM.” The infectious track reels you in with charming vocals, creating a happy, love-bug vibe. Suddenly, when the chorus drops, Xuitcasecity states “I know you wanna be my wifey, but girl that’s unlikely” which switches the vibe up to a more desolate, party all night vibe – which is where Kharfi’s energetic, EDM production really kicks in for an exciting experience for listeners. In regards to the track’s release, Kharfi shared:
“Unlikely” is the first song from my debut album “AQUARIUM,” which will be released by the end of 2021. I decided to release this single on May 21st, as a forerunner to the summer season and enjoying everything good weather brings. The song has a very energetic sound that connects the lyrics to the instrumental. I collaborated with Xuitcasecity, a pop duo from Florida, who we met by chance years ago on SoundCloud to make this song. My goal was to create a bridge between Europe and the United States, the text talks about an unrequited love, classic youth, with an experimental beat with winks at a current dance and radio world. The goal with “Unlikely” is to make space again on the radio, and especially in digital stores, for a lively summer hit.
