Eva Zakula Redefines Pop Boundaries with “Be Ye Lil Gods”

From the intense percussion that transports you to another dimension in “High” to the punk-dance blends like “Play It On Loud,” the new album “Be Ye Lil Gods” by singer, songwriter, and emerging artist Eva Zakula stakes its claim in the music industry with eleven tracks built by sheer determination.

This collection, which resonates with pop but also weaves in subtle jazz, R&B, electronic music, and even punk, dance, and rap, showcases Zakula’s versatility as she gracefully navigates diverse genres while maintaining a thin yet unbreakable thread throughout her work.

One of the first surprises is “Lucy,” a track that drifts softly like a sigh through the ears, only to be suddenly interrupted by a remarkably well-executed rap that fuses seamlessly, despite what you might expect. “Comfort You” stands out with its intense percussion and uplifting love lyrics that push forward despite context and outside resistance.

Eva Zakula carries the coherence of a personal search that has been unfolding over the years. Raised between church hymns in the Bay Area and long walks from Los Angeles to Santa Monica in search of inspiration, she found in music a space for both spirituality and liberation.

From her first garage band at sixteen to her formative years at the USC School of Dramatic Arts, the path has always been the same: to understand music not as a technical artifice, but as a human, emotional, and visceral language.

She describes “Be Ye Lil Gods” as the result of “unlearning everything I thought I knew” and reconnecting with a higher, more spiritual version of herself.

With “Be Ye Lil Gods,” Eva Zakula moves beyond mere sound, crafting a statement about humanity, vulnerability, and resilience. Slow-brewed and fearlessly conceived, the album’s eleven tracks ignite a light that sets her apart in the music industry.
