Control Room’s Exhilarating New Single “Touch Me”

Control Room

Control Room

Canadian DJ/producer duo Control Room is gaining some awesome momentum after opening the year with dates around Western Canada throughout the last couple of weeks. During their biggest hometown show yet in Edmonton, they shared the same stage with their hero, Dr. Fresch. They followed that up by playing even more shows across the Great White North with him. Today, they ride this momentum into the release of their latest single “Touch Me.”

This single perfectly embodies the group’s seamless blend of technical mastery and unrelenting energy, and the latter is what really makes this track stand out. Even the most technically minded listeners sometimes want to listen to a song simply because it makes you want to dance. Believe me, this song will make you want to dance.

“Touch Me” sounds like the explosion of emotions that comes with letting another person into your world. The bass sounds round and inviting, balancing out the sharpness of the synth hits that occupy the high end of the chorus. Building the track around these kinds of instrumentals allows the autotuned vocal to perfectly blend into the middle ground of their sonic textures.

Control Room finds a way to make each moment on this song singular while still maintaining the cohesive framework of the track. The first verse establishes a floaty atmosphere that’s disrupted by unrelating snare hits.

This percussive persistence ushers in the chorus beautifully, hitting listeners with a wall of bass and chest pounding kick drums that force you to move.

A wave of a synth washes off the drums, bringing us back down to float in the space between the vocals and the twinkling arpeggiated decorations that surround them. Creating this space allows for the final chorus to hit even harder, with even more grit and fuzz than the first.

“Touch Me” is their first release of the year, an exhilarating way to set the tone for their 2025. The track is available everywhere now, but that’s not all! Tomorrow, Control Room will be supporting Neon Steve live at Bloom Nightclub in Nelson, and on March 22 they’ll be supporting longstoryshort at Back Alley in Calgary.

You won’t want to miss these electronic stars on the rise, so start listening to “Touch Me” now!
