Charli xcx & Troye Sivan Drop “Talk talk”

On September 12, 2024, Charli XCX added to her growing collection of iconic remixes with her latest release, “Talk talk” featuring Troye Sivan (and a guest appearance from Dua Lipa). This track served as a spicy addition to her album, Brat and it’s completely different but also still brat, which launched on October 11, 2024, via Atlantic Records. It’ll be very fun.”  Troye Sivan’s smooth vocals get things going, singing the first verse over a few subtle synths. The pre-chorus then introduces a proper bassline, adding depth to the track. The outro of the original version becomes the chorus of the remix; a playful approach to restructuring a song. The “Talk talk” remix reveals a newfound boldness compared to the original lyrics, particularly in the post-chorus:

‘Kay here’s the plan / I wanna fly you out to Amsterdam / I got a good hotel to fuck you in, I wanna –

The production for the remix adds more variety and texture to the original house beat, including glossy key riffs and a bouncy bass section. The party ends as the song does, where Dua bids a humorous goodbye in French, translating to “I lost my phone, but you know what? It was worth it because it was an insane night.”
