Grammy-award winning superstar Chappell Roan dropped her newest single “The Giver.”
Buckle up everyone, because “The Giver” is about to give! With a heavy western-style flair and vibrant violins, Chappell Roan’s latest single invites us to get up and stomp our cowboy boots. Following the milestone of a year that was 2024, which was marked by standout performance, some of which at major festivals such as Coachella and Lollapalooza, as well as the release of the critically acclaimed, Billboard Hot 100 charting smash hit “Good Luck, Babe!”, Chappell Roan debuted her latest single “The Giver” at Saturday Night Live. Starting 2025 on a strong note, Roan brings us a queer anthem that challenges the status quo and emphasized the importance of staying true to yourself. Using quippy and flirty lyrics, Chappell Roan assures us that she gets ‘the job’ done. Furthermore, she emphasizes just that in her official lyric video, posing as a variety of service-oriented characters including a lawyer, dentist, plumber, and private investigator.

Roan’s marketing campaign that teased the song prior to its release, included the display of billboards in cities like LA, Nashville and New York, featuring these characters. What’s more is that in celebration of the launch of “The Giver,” she released five 7-inch limited edition vinyl records, each featuring an artwork with one of the characters.

About “The Giver,” Chappell Roan says,
“I have such a special place in my heart for country music. I grew up listening to it every morning and afternoon on my school bus and had it swirling around me at bon fires, grocery stores and karaoke bars. Many people have asked if this means I’m making a country album??? My answer is.. right now I’m just making songs that make me feel happy and fun and The Giver is my take on cuntry xoxo may the classic country divas lead their genre, I am just here to twirl and do a little gay yodel for y’all.”
