Last week, Grammy-nominated, Platinum certified singer-songwriter Cassadee Pope released an exciting rendition of “People That I Love Leave,” remixed by musical powerhouse Will Weinbach. She originally released the song in April, co-written by Pope, Ali Tamposi, Roman Campolo, Nick Long, and Andrew Luce. It garnered a great response, and Cassadee followed up with a relatable music video directed by Ed Pryor. In this new version, the revved-up beat combined with Cassadee’s striking vocals and powerful lyrics makes a delectable pair.
Pope enters the song with a strong voice, communicating an anxiety we all relate to yet often refuse to acknowledge. The remixed beat brings an added layer of anticipation and drive. The message remains in both versions, but the change in pace evokes new emotions. The song has an unabashed sense of confidence, bouncing between Pope’s sassy, gorgeous voice, “I don’t wanna,” and the synth callback, “lose you.” Weinbach’s remix elevates “People That I Love Leave,” honoring the complicated, deep feelings involved while sustaining a steady, upbeat rhythm.

She sang the National Anthem live at the 2023 Stanley Cup Finals in Sunrise, Florida as well. She has been paving her own way in the industry since the beginning of her career, and yet another chapter unfolds with “People That I Love Leave.”
“This next project has an authenticity that I’ve never been able to tap into before now,” she shares. “Pop and rock music is such a staple in my creativity so to fully return back to that genre feels special and like coming back home.”
