A decade following his last solo release, Bruno Mars is back with his highly anticipated fourth solo album, The Romantic.
Fresh off the back of chart topping successes such as the GRAMMY award-winning song “Die With A Smile” with Lady Gaga, Bruno keeps on showing the world that he is a force to be reckoned with. In fact, it became the fastest song in Spotify history to reach one billion streams. Furthermore, it topped the Billboard Global 200 Chart for a whopping 18 weeks. As of 2026, Bruno has gained at least seven RIAA Diamond certifications for songs such as “Just the Way You Are,” “Uptown Funk” and “Grenade.”
The Romaniac is a definite return to form for Bruno Mars. Laying heavy focus on Latin elements, the opener “Risk It All” starts out strong with beautiful trumpets and guitars, creating a fragile, yet powerful atmosphere that sets the tone for what’s to come. The song is a testament to love and devotion, showing us that he would give everything for his lover. Alongside the song, Bruno released an emotional music video, showing him at his wedding and living the life every romantic dreams of.

Track number 2, “Cha Cha Cha” brings us a strong 70’s funk and Motown influence that is carried on and even amplified by the 3rd song on the album “I Just Might.” These two highly danceable tracks together make for the most upbeat portion of The Romantic, showing us the more feelgood side of love. The music video to “I Just Might” in particular urges us to get up and get moving to the rhythm.

In “God Was Showing Off,” Bruno isn’t only showing off more of the Latin influences he is known and celebrated for, but also his immortal love for his maiden. Amongst all the love songs on this album, “God Was Showing Off” is THE love letter. The praise for his love is sky high and so is the absolute vibe that comes with it.
“Why You Wanna Fight?” jumps right in, treating us to a heavenly, electric guitar intro, elevated by Bruno’s immaculate vocals. At first, the song appears to be the first little dip in the fairytale love story, detailing a fight between lovers. However, it soon sways towards his devotion, transforming fighting each other to fighting for the relationship.
“On My Soul” then goes on to pick up the pace again, bringing us a funky and upbeat experience once more celebrating love. Bruno’s devotion here is at its peak, showing us that he’d do anything for love and that he doesn’t need anything else when he has his partner by his side.

“Something Serious” effortlessly reels us in with its intoxicating beat that got us right in its trance. With its feel-good groove and celebratory aura, the song contrasts its serious topic. Bruno here discusses his desire to build a future with his lover, proving that he intends to go all in.
“Nothing Left” is arguably the centerpiece of the album. It clearly sets itself apart from the other songs as a grand and tragic anthem. In fact, the song shines a light on the fact that love is not always this blissful experience everyone makes it out to be. This is especially true when it isn’t mutual.
Feels like I’m (I’m), I’m reaching out
With nothing left to hold on to
“Nothing Left” painfully details the tragedy of when your feelings of love are so strong that they consume your whole being while the person these feelings are dedicated to couldn’t be less impressed.
The finale of The Romantic, “Dance With Me” is the sweet and smooth encore to its previous track, continuing the narrative of Bruno wanting nothing more than to dance with his lover one last time before they leave.
Bruno Mars starts the year out strong with his blazing return to the album landscape. With a much needed message of love to the world, the sky is the limit for what he has in store for us in the future.
