Alesso and Martin Garrix came prepared to ULTRA Europe 2025, transcending mere entertainment by lifting the crowd onto a higher vibration. Their newest release, “Inside Our Hearts” featuring Malta’s Shaun Farrugia, is a track born of zest for life and intention. After two years of quiet work, this emotional track found its voice on one of the loudest stages in the world in Split, Croatia.
On an already steamy summer night, Alesso heated the stage with classics like “Reload” by Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash and his collaboration with the former, “Calling (Lose My Mind).” Towards the end of his set, he brought out Martin Garrix as a surprise, enthusiastically debuting their new collab in front of thousands. Released on July 25th via Garrix’s label, STPMD RCRDS, “Inside Our Hearts” feels expansive and human, with a wise pre-chorus that says, “It is when we are drowning in these moments, we must look inside our hearts.” Shaun Farrugia’s rich and resonant vocal tone adds warmth and depth to the overall luminous party track.
Alesso and Martin Garrix, like many artists within electronic and pop music, shape the emotional undercurrent of the crowd long before the first drop hits. Their work extends beyond performance and shapes the mood of generations, with “Inside Our Hearts” offering a beacon of hope and love in these complex modern times. The timing of this release could not have been more serendipitous.
And what better stage than ULTRA? Originating in sunny Miami, USA, the festival has by now spanned the Earth with stages in South Africa, Japan, Taiwan, and more, gathering energy from diverse crowds and forming once-in-a-lifetime connections.
Being the EDM titans they are, Alesso and Martin Garrix know the value of these connections very well. Alesso not only boasts consecutive #1 Billboard Hits, but a label, BodyHi, a PAPER Magazine cover, and rare performances with singer Nadia Ali and Grammy-nominated cellist Tina Gou. Garrix has shared equally immense talent since his first hit “Animals” at 17 years old, quickly becoming a staple DJ/producer of the 2010s and beyond. In addition to a record label, he owns a studio complex in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and frequently mentors upcoming artists in between it all.
When these energies collide with the excitement of the ULTRA crowd, magic happens, as broadcasted by the festival’s UMF TV network. This live reaction emphasized the impact of euphoric dance music and the impact that “Inside Our Hearts” will have on festival stages.
