GRLwood is done with your obsession.

Imagine: Someone is obsessed with you, monitoring your socials nonstop. They’re all over your profiles, reeking of desperation as they fixate on you and you alone. Their obsessive tendencies blend love and hate, and it’s exhausting.

You don’t posses me, b**** I am free

Stay off my posts, you keep scrolling

I know when I’m happy makes you angry,

Stay mad then, cus I’m smiling

“Fake” by GRLwood

GRLwood unapologetically rejects that toxic behavior, reclaiming individuality. Melodic and pop-inspired with hints of hip-hop, “Fake” has an entrancing rhythm that has you swaying along while also delivering a defiant edge expressing utter exasperation

“Fake” is just one track off GRLwood’s brand-new album TEARS, released today. These 13 tracks showcase a fresh sound from Rej Forester, who seems to be able to do it all as a skilled songwriter and producer.

GRLwood started in 2016 as Rej Forester’s solo project and is now a duo with drummer Mia Morris. From hometown Louisville, Kentucky and now all around the globe, with well over 800,000 monthly listeners, the band shows no signs of slowing down. Earlier in the year brought two other killer albums: Blood, Sweat, and today Tears.

The band’s expansive discography also boasts scream-pop anthems like “I’m Yer Dad” and “I Hate My Mom.” There are no skips, ever. From the most dynamic of live performances and the coolest community of fans, plus a relentless commitment to challenging the patriarchy, misogyny, and toxic heteronormative ideologies, what more could you ask for in a band?
