Kid Travis Bridges The Gap In ‘Distance’

There’s this saying that goes “absence makes the heart grow fonder”. Cliché yes, but it’s just as real as our own reflections. In fact, it’s uber present in every aspect most especially in the realm of romance. Wherein we see lovers long for their partners as distance enters the equation. Whether separated for awhile (minutes, days, weeks) or a long time aka LDR (Long Distance Relationship). It’s undeniable that this brings so much distress to both parties even if we have technology backing us up.

This same melancholic tune sings loudly in Kid Travis’ song ‘Distance’. Released last September 7th in all major streaming platforms worldwide via Groove Gang Entertainment. Kid Travis’ latest offering is a heartbreaking love letter to their partner who lives miles away. “Cause baby I’ll wait as long as it takes. FaceTime isn’t enough and I wanna stay. As long as it takes. To witness all of your love.” as the lyrics explicitly share. Reiterating to us the fact that despite all these modern conveniences, they are still considered as mere proxies to touch and being physically present.

As much as it is a note to their better half on the other side of the world. ‘Distance’ is also a display of Kid Travis’ skills as an emerging superstar. With vocals gifted by Cupid that simply touches the heart, and instrumentals that soar the heavens. We are given this beautiful anthem for lovers in waiting. A boost for a heart screaming in pain, it also serves as a motivation to keep the flame of love burning brightly. Gently assuring us that we may be suffering now, but there will come a time where this will all come to end- together at last! Hang in there! “Close ain’t close enough. Baby four hundred miles ain’t close enough. Close ain’t close enough.”.
