Skellytn, based in Los Angeles, has been gaining recognition as a prominent figure for Neurofunk music, a dark drum and bass subgenre. After her debut on Bassrush Records with “Control,” she returns to the label with an exciting five-track EP titled Megacorporation. The EP takes listeners on a thematic journey that explores the dystopian universe behind Skellytn’s project, delving into the company’s rise to dominance in warfare machinery and biotechnology.

The EP starts with “Fracture,” an electrifying introduction filled with spine-tingling and heart-racing elements, combining an ominous mood with a sense of fear-stricken excitement. The track paints vivid imagery of a mutated beast wreaking havoc with bloodthirsty intent.
Teaming up with Los Angeles-based artist BZRKR in “Fire Across The Sky,” Skellytn crafts a high-octane ride with otherworldly soundscapes, distorted horns, and intense percussion. The vocal topline blurs the line between catchy and ritualistic, providing a hypnotic allure before unleashing a barrage of bass and pounding drums in the drops.
At the core of the EP lies the centerpiece, “Villain,” a war-ready epic that showcases the heaviest artillery. The robotic vocal narrates a path of destruction while ferocious Reese bass, choppy percussion, foreboding horns, and intermittent bleeps take the fight to the front.
In “Dance With The Devil,” Skellytn collaborates with emerging singer-songwriter UNDY to create an inviting yet dark track. UNDY’s vocals mix demonic undertones with a sultry enchantment, luring listeners into the darkness before the sci-fi-inspired synths lead to a mesmerizing melody that’s shattered by the aggressive DnB assault in the drops.
The lead single, “Control,” features Honey-B-Sweet dropping braggadocious bars radiating confidence and control. The track combines hypnotic melodies with chest-pumping percussion and rugged guitar riffs. The first drop unleashes filthy low-end and destructive laser synths, followed by a menacing halftime DnB section and a scorching neuro sound in the finale.
Skellytn explains why Bassrush is the perfect home for the EP, expressing gratitude for their support and the synergy between her music and the label’s vision. She has been making significant strides in the scene, being the first female producer to release a drum & bass album in North America (‘Neurocomputer’ LP on Reid Speed’s Play Me Records) and the first female to release on Eatbrain, a prominent neuro label.
