“Dive” – Matt Sperrazza x CYPRSS
“Dive” Nashville-based artists and Belmont University alumni Matt Sperrazza and CYPRSS (f.k.a. Cypress & Co.) made a massive jump in voting in the Elite Eight, defeating Kid Travis‘s “I Want My Hoodie Back” in the process. The song features modern pop production and introspective lyrics, and it manages to be a bit dark without being completely somber in a track that gives a definite nod to Twenty One Pilots.

“Lemonade” – Alexia
“Lemonade” is the debut single for New York City’s Alexia. The funky pop song features dreamy production and a relentless bass line. It defeated Hartley‘s “Not Used to Hope” in the Elite Eight and has become a bit of a voting juggernaut so far in the competition.

“Monster Squad (Love So Crazy)” – Sam The Astronaut
The second song from Sam The Astronaut‘s 2020 EP “High For You,” “Monster Squad (Love So Crazy)” exemplifies the brand of “anthemic, West Coast alt-pop” the Vancouver duo is quickly becoming known for. Last round, it defeated Jude The Obscure‘s “Strong Enough.”

“Moonstruck” – DJ Wei x Shingo Sekiguchi
Malaysian label exec and artist DJ Wei teamed up with Shingo Sekiguchi on “Moonstruck,” a vibey, jazzy instrumental piece featuring squeaky-clean electric guitar, a fat bass, cutting background vocals, and exciting electric piano riffs. Last round, it defeated “Neighbourhood” by DC.
