The Harajuku-core trailblazers HANABIE. start the year out on a high note, dropping a wild and futuristic music video to their smash hit, “ICONIC.”
The Tokyo-based all-girl rock band HANABIE. continue to make waves in the rock scene. Contrasting deceptively cute, girlish looks with brutal shouts, heavy riffs and their unique Japanese flair, HANABIE. are a force to be reckoned with. With a solid fanbase all around the world, their hit single “Pardon Me, I Have To Go Now” has garnered more than 10 million views on YouTube and 5.3 million views on TikTok.
Furthermore, through their 2024 EP Bucchigiri Tokyo, HANABIE. proudly portrayed their dynamic range, as well as their signature style. In 2023, they began their conquest of the world, becoming the first Japanese women to perform on the mainstage of Lollapalooza in Chicago in 2024. This year, HANABIE. will kick off their first North American headliner in mid-March, cementing their grip on the world. Now that their latest EP HOT TOPIC is upon us, we are in for a treat.

The official music video to HANABIE.’s track “ICONIC” takes us into the brain’s central control, a futuristic white room, staffed by the four band members. It takes us back and forth between the sterile desks and the wild stage that is surveilled by its workers. On stage, the band rocks on until they break free from this surveillance, tearing down the walls and earning their freedom from all the self doubt and judgement.
