Nothing sends a concert into chaos faster than a surprise, and at KATSEYE’s Dec. 6 concert, the surprise was a beautiful one.
It happened midway through the six-member girl group’s second of two sold-out shows at San Francisco’s Bill Graham Civic Auditorium: the group paused the set to celebrate the youngest member, Yoonchae’s, 18th birthday. A cake was wheeled onto the stage, and KATSEYE, along with their fans—known as EYEKONS—erupted into singing “Happy Birthday” as Yoonchae knelt to make a wish. One by one, the members shared their love, gratitude, and birthday wishes, while EYEKONS held up fan-made posters, creating a heartfelt pause in the high-energy Beautiful Chaos tour.
Yoonchae’s birthday wasn’t the only highlight of the night. The Grammy-nominated group had been winning over the San Francisco crowd from the moment they stepped onstage, launching straight into the signature eight “la’s” of their debut track, “Debut,” a bold start that immediately sent EYEKONS into a frenzy.

Dressed in black grungy leather accented with ripped details, silver chains, and knee-high chunky boots, Sophia, Manon, Daniela, Lara, Megan, and Yoonchae powered through a couple of tracks before eight backup dancers joined for “Mean Girls.” Fans sang along to the empowering lyrics: “God bless the sweet girls… and yes, God bless even the mean girls.” The group’s harmonies and synchronized movements brought the message of forgiveness and resilience to life, creating a moment that felt both personal and uplifting.
Next, “Tonight I Might” embraced a carefree, spontaneous energy. The lyrics—”Do all of the shit I know I didn’t do when I was a kid… Tonight I might do stupid shit”—set the tone for a playful, unchoreographed moment. The girls even brought out phones on selfie sticks, broadcasting a live feed from the stage and letting fans feel part of the action. The performance was intimate and free-spirited, a playful contrast to the precision of earlier songs.

The group then performed the unreleased “Internet Girl” followed by fan favorite “Gabriela,” which featured an extended dance break (one of several throughout the night). Latin American–inspired outfits, including Mexican Folkloric skirts, were swung dramatically across the stage, with backup dancers assisting in acrobatic moments that gave each member a chance to shine. The daring moves, flowing costumes, and precise formations made it a show-stopping highlight.
Before the next act, fans were shown exclusive footage tracing KATSEYE’s origins. Early interviews and homemade childhood videos captured their first steps into singing and dancing, offering EYEKONS an intimate look at the dedication and talent that forged the group into the performers they are today.
After the video interlude, the group returned in a striking new look: sparkly blue and purple bikini-style tops paired with a mix of leather bottoms. Jewel-toned fabrics and leather created a bold, dynamic aesthetic, signaling a shift in energy as KATSEYE launched into non-album tracks, including a few from Dream Academy, the reality competition that brought the six members together. These songs gave fans a glimpse of the group’s formative moments and a chance to relive the journey from trainees to rising global stars.
The concert closed with the group in DIY versions of their merch shirts, transforming simple pieces into bold, personalized stage looks. They performed a few more songs, including “Gnarly,” and the energy in the room was, well… gnarly.
For a first tour, KATSEYE delivered a performance that felt decades in the making. Their vocals soared (shoutout to Lara), their choreography hit with razor-sharp precision, and their stage presence radiated star power. From the heartfelt magic of Yoonchae’s birthday to the wild energy of “Gnarly,” every moment ignited the crowd. EYEKONS weren’t just watching; they were part of a phenomenon that proves KATSEYE isn’t just a rising group—they’re EYEKONIC.
Tickets for the full Beautiful Chaos tour are sold out, but KATSEYE isn’t slowing down, with upcoming appearances at Coachella, Hinterland Music Festival, multiple South American Lollapalooza festivals, and more already slated for 2026.
