It’s a queer music renaissance, baby!
~ Caroline Kingsbury
Have you ever watched an opener at a concert and wondered: how the heck has no one caught on to this artist yet?
This was my impression when I caught Caroline Kingsbury‘s set back in the summer of 2022. Yes, I was already on the concert high thanks to shows being finally back after a year and a half of none, thanks to…you know what. And Caroline’s energy on the intimate Goldfield Midtown stage, performing for just a few of us? I absolutely. Could. Not. Look. Away.
Watch a little clip of the performance below:
Imagine my joy when I discovered that Caroline is unveiling her next era. And from what I can say… it’s iconic. The eighties are back. We all know this. But Caroline has been bringing her love for that era back many years before we even thought about it. The newest single, “Shock Treatment,” and title track to upcoming EP, continue to prove this fact.
They’ve been back for me, honey, since like 2017.
~ Caroline Kingsbury
We had the pleasure of chatting with Caroline about “Shock Treatment,” fan-made pieces absolutely glimmering among her drag closet, mental health and neurodivergence, and of course… being one of the up and coming creators in the queer music renaissance.
