Anderson.Paak’s band, Free Nationals, have released their first single since October 2018: “Time.” “Time” is an easy, wholesome listening experience, carried by the smooth rhythmic combination of guitar, keyboard, and bass. Featuring the vocals of Colombian-American singer Kali Uchis, and a verse from late rapper, Mac Miller.

Kali Uchis soft voice delivers choral lyrics, “I gotta take some time to grow… I think I got too comfortable,” ensuring the peaceful tone of the song, just before a verse from Mac Miller. Mac’s wistful, sentimental vocals sail through his verse, reassuring “Keep watching, let it all unwind / you get yours, of course, I get mine / and in the end, everything will be fine.” The final lines of his verse summon slight sadness for the listener, ending with “It’s been a while, and I’m even different now / Shit, I’ll probably make it better when you see me.”

A lilting melody from Free Nationals accompanied by the sweet voices of Kali Uchis and Mac Miller, “Time” is a pleasantly healthful experience for all listeners. Stream “Time” on all platforms now!
