Lead guitarist of Foo Fighters – Chris Shiflett – visited Copenhagen to introduce his solo work and promote new album ‘Hard Lessons’. The event took place on the small stage of Pumpehuset, organized with cooperation of Live Nation Denmark.
The performance began at 8pm with a local opening act – The Consolation. The local Danish band presented their mixture of rock and country music in a 40 minutes set proving that you don’t need to come from USA to feel the country vibes.
It didn’t take long for both bands to rearrange the stage, and a few minutes before 9pm the band and Chris Shiflett were already pulling their guitar strings and filling in the club with country-rock tunes. Chris was wearing a red bandana, as he approached the front of the stage with his red telecaster and started the show.
An amazing performance of ‘Sticks & Stones’ followed by ‘I Thought You’d Never Leave’ from upcoming album started the show, and fans started to move in the rhythm of the music. What I have learned during the gig is that Chris, beside his music skills, is a great entertainer as well – he shared his stories about his first girlfriend, his son’s first girlfriend and short trip around Copenhagen which ended up with a homeless guy with his two huge dogs following him to the club. The whole show was wrapped up shortly after 10pm with ‘West Coast Town’.
Chris Shiflett provided a good dose of country music, presenting 16 songs and leaving Denmark and fans with a nice music memory. He won’t leave Denmark for long – as in June, Foo Fighters are playing a show organized by Live Nation in Fængslet Horsens.
